We had all our main floor windows and patio doors changed out to new ones in our 36 year old house. The windows are noticeably warmer in this winter and we found the kitchen much cooler in the last of the summer temperatures. The installers really knew what they were doing, were reasonably quick, considering the house issues they came up against and they were fantastic to have around, so polite, considerate and easy to talk to. The cleanup of the workspace was incredible as they even vacuumed up stuff on the lawn outside and swept off the patios afterwards.

We shopped around at a few places for windows over the last year and landed on Consumer Windows and Doors. From the first meeting, David was very attentive to our demands and provided suggestions that met our requirements and on budget. The group that installed the windows were professional and clean. Would highly recommend.

I strongly recommend Consumer Direct Window & Doors, I just replaced 13 windows and 2 doors for my home. Mr. Kristian is a dedicate and knowledgeable sale representative, he provided a lot of information to help me to select proper products and gave me a competitive price and optimal finance plan.
Mr. Sina is also a professional and skillful installer, he and his team completed the installations perfectly , they did every part very carefully and efficiently, they made icing on the cake for my new windows and doors.

My house is a bit older so some customization was required for the fitting, the company was more than happy to make sure everything was done properly and in a timely fashion.

It has been over a year since we had windows and doors replaced by Consumer Direct Windows.
For me, the most important considerations for rating a purchase of this type and magnitude are: Do they work? Does the company stand behind their product and installation?
In a word, yes!
We first contacted Consumer Direct Windows and Doors in late June, 2021. We had previously talked to many other companies to replace the windows and patio door in our 1960’s era house. The old windows and door were quite leaky, costing us big time in heating bills.
At this time, the Federal government had just introduced their Greener Homes grant program, and Consumer Direct promised to help us get through the process to get a rebate.
There were two considerations for choosing Consumer Direct in the first place. First, their responsiveness to our concerns and questions; and second, their window recommendations stood out from the rest. Most companies had suggested we replace our front picture window with two opening windows and one fixed window. Nick, our salesperson, suggested one opening window taking up 1/3 of the opening, and the rest with a fixed window. This allows for good air circulation, plus greater light because we don’t lose the space required by the extra window frames.
They recommended a brick-to-brick installation, and a more efficient type of window to provide better insulation, and the best rebate.
The windows in our house are quite large, and Consumer Direct recommended an awning style window. Not only does it allow for a single glass in each of the openings, but the awning style provides protection from rain entering the house through an open window.

Prior to installation, Consumer Direct helped us through the process of applying for the Greener Homes grant, and the pre-installation measurements that were required. They recommended a company (Energuy) to do the testing and submit everything to the government.

The installation was done efficiently in early September, ’21. Colin and his installation team made sure that the area was protected to provide the least dust and mess possible. (In these all-brick houses, not making a mess isn’t a possibility).
One of the windows couldn’t be installed right away because of an ordering problem, but Consumer Direct handled this in an open and transparent way. A couple of weeks later, the installation was completed.
They did all of the work that they promised, without having to be prodded.
After the installation, Graeme, the installation co-ordinator, worked with us to get all of the information for the grant. The process was still quite new, and confusing.
In the year since then, we’ve had the experience of draft-free windows and patio door in winter, and windows that open and close easily during the summer. The patio door opens smoothly and easily, and closes securely.
Frankly, I’ve waited until we had a reason to check out their after sales service this September, a window that was catching slightly when being opened.
Consumer Direct scheduled an installer to come out, and he was able to solve the issue with a small adjustment.
All in all, a great experience.

Super knowledgeable. Told me all my options, informed me about the grant program. I met with a few other companies and Jerry was the best price! When it came to installation they were very clean and fast. I was super impressed. I already recommended them to a few people and i will keep doing so! They are great!

Windows were replace by one of the most professional companies I have ever dealt with.

David came to the house for the consultation, he brought samples, professionalism and years of knowledge. He let me know which windows needed to go and which ones could stay and the approximate prices. This will be our first winter with our new windows, so I do not have an opinion on the winter efficiency. David also let us know about the energy rebates to help us with the cost of the windows.

The only hassle was scheduling the install. We were delayed because of inclement weather. Once the weather leveled out, we were rescheduled several times due to the contractors availability. In order to get ready for install, we had to move furniture, window coverings and take time off of work so we could be home. Once the contractors came, it was very smooth and they did a great job.

The consultation and deposit was in October. Our windows arrived and ready early February, install was in May. It's October again and I'm still waiting for my rebate check from Energuy (check is NOT up to Consumers, It's Energuy that handles the rebates).

Overall, we are very happy with our new windows. We definitely recommend Consumers Direct windows.
